I had a chance to go visit the Cuadra San Cristobal stables outside of Mexico city designed by Mexican architect Luis Barragán in 1966. His typical use of bold colors and play with light created a beautiful and unusual contrast with the resident horses and made it a beautiful and peaceful place to ride. While the stables are privately owned, the current owners welcome visitors to come and enjoy this architectural gem. Reading the guestbook it was clear that this space has left an impression on many international visitors, including star architect Zaha Hadid.
