Mish Way is a Vancouver-based writer and musician. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Gender Studies and Communications and studied feminist philosophy at the Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands. Mish’s freelance work can regularly be found in FFWD Weekly, The Georgia Straight, Noisey and VICE magazine, amongst others and she has also contributed to the National Post and BUST. She currently maintains a column in VICE called “The Waste Coast”, she is the Senior Women’s Correspondent at Noisey and writes a monthly fashion and style column in AUX digital magazine. She also hosts podcast introducing and interviewing up-and-coming bands called “Delicious with Mish” also on VICE. Her band, White Lung, releases with punk and hardcore label, Deranged Records. White Lung’s debut LP It’s The Evil was Exclaim’s Punk Album Of The Year in 2010 and the band was nominated for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Music Week Indie Awards. Their second LP Sorry was released spring 2012 to critical acclaim from SPIN, Pitchfork, Bitch as well as landing on “Top Album of the Year” lists in Rolling Stone, Exclaim!, Magnet, amongst others. Sorry was also nominated as “Best Album Art of 2012″ by NME and made the shortlist for “Best Album Art” by Art Vinyl worldwide exhibit.
