This month Lisa Giroday, curator and owner of the LES Gallery in Vancouver, welcomed us into her home to have a look in her closet for our first fashion edition of Closet Treasures. Not only does Lisa run one of Vancouver’s most discerning contemporary art galleries- she has an effortless and unobtrusive approach to dressing that we jealously admire
Image One: No6 Ankle Boots
Why she likes… That these are a clog and motorcycle boot in 1. Rubber soles for grip. A feminine yet masculine feel to the design.
Image Two: Lisa in her backyard wearing her threeASFOUR dress with Marnie shoes.
Image Three: threeASFour Dress
Why she likes… Love the abstract, cut pieces that hold the dress together. It’s shapeless and boxy. There are different variations of wearing the dress.
Image Four: Isabel Marant double-breasted jacket
Why she likes… How huge the jacket is. Utilitarian, androgynous feel.
Image Five: Rodebje Fishnet Sweater
Why she likes… The silhouette is reminiscent of 80’s workout gear.
Image Six: Diana Orving Silk Scarf
Why she likes… The digital print on the scarf which features the silhouette of people in motion. How big the scarf is.
Image Seven: Best Behavour leather bag
Why she likes…The color blocking. It matches almost every outfit.
Image Eight: Helmut Lang top
Why she likes… It is a classic. How sheer the jersey is. The covered lapel buttons. The shape.
Image Nine: Kaylee Tankus pants
Why she likes: They are voluminous on top tapered at the bottom. The angled fly and the nostalgic feel of jodhpurs.
