01 Magazine is proud to announce the release of its 10th issue – Portraits. We are excited about all the artists and photographers that participated to help create the vision for Portraits, and look forward to sharing their light with all of you. Every week we will be launching a new feature from the issue. Our first feature is the work of Andrew Dadson. Enjoy!
A RETROSPECTIVE INTERVIEW WITH ARTIST ANDREW DADSON BY GRADY MITCHELL:
The work of Vancouver artist Andrew Dadson takes many forms, but it all tips towards the same: emphasis through effacement. Andrew pokes and prods this idea through many forms by exploring the notion of vacant space, artificial boundaries, and erasure of time.
A STUDIO VISIT WITH ANDREW DADSON PHOTOGRAPHED BY ANDREW QUERNER:
We had the pleasure of paying Andrew Dadson’s studio a visit this summer. He welcomed us on a busy day in the middle of packing up his work for his solo exhibition at the David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles. Our photographer Andrew Querner met him for the first time as Dadson let us roam around his studio to capture unguarded moments of himself, and his space on film.
