unnamed-4

The multidisciplinary New-York based  artist, Doug Aitken’s project Station to Station: A 30 Day Happening, takes over the Barbican Centre in London from June 27 – July 26th.This ‘living exhibition’, brings together a fusion of international and UK-based artists from the world of contemporary art, music, dance, graphic design and film.

Station to Station first began back in 2013 where it crossed North America by train, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, over 23 days. Over the course of the journey, a constantly changing group of creative contributors joined and took part in ten events in major cities and off-the-grid locations. What began as a train journey in 2013 has evolved into a platform for non-commercial creativity and cross-collaboration between different disciplines at the Barbican centre.to-station www.barbican.org.uk/stationtostation

In addition to its current unfolding of happenings, a new 15-second film is posted each day of the station. These individual films will be brought together to create a complete filmic network. The feature film will be released in theatres this summer, and has its NYC premier on July 30th. You can buy tickets at http://www.filmlinc.com/films/on-sale/station-
