We went to check out the current exhibition at Publication Studio showcasing selected print works from Acid Sweat Lodge called ‘Rock And Roll Meeting’. The collective started by Kevin Romaniuk and Liam Hogan researches and observes alternative lifestyles. They archive their research in various forms of media including blog posts, film strips exhibition and organized gatherings. Works from the exhibition are drawn from ASL’s vast collection of posters, zines, books and reports that were originally created to document the organization’s research into diverse topics such as psycho eyes, leather and chests, creeps, nudity rituals, slogans, warnings, fangs and goons. Most of the material, produced between 2007 and 2015, was printed in limited edition runs and distributed through ASL’s underground network. This exhibition marks the first time these works have been shown as a collection.
The show is up until April 28th at Publication House Studio Vancouver at 222 East Georgia(Tues-Sat 12pm-5pm). There is also a printed book that you can buy commemorating the fascinating exhibition. Take the time to check it out!
