NEW YORK PORTRAIT SERIES #3 – Todd Jordan + Katherine Clary

todd_katherine1_web

Todd Jordan and Katherine Clary are a couple that have a bright future together. We admire the unity and love that these two have for one other. Katherine is Todd’s muse on a variety of different photoshoots that he has done. The images are always uninhibited and natural, the type of photo that you can only capture if you have complete trust and connection with the person you are shooting. Katherine is not just a muse for her smitten boyfriend but also a  great writer and an Editor In Chief  of  the new magazine called Dogme. This renegade style magazine  just came out with their second issue where they seem to be creating their own language  about what visual beauty is, photography and their subject matters. They even publish it on their own terms- when they decide it’s ready.

While visiting New York Aaron Wynia stopped by Todd and Katherine’s place and took these nice portraits of them in their home. He also met their cat. We asked these two the same 10 questions and their answers couldn’t be more different.

What’s your single worst phobia?

I have no phobias.

What do you own too many of?

Too many pairs of white socks. I only wear them when my non whites are dirty.

What pair of shoes do you think deserve a comeback?

I think all that deserve it have had it. Classics are classic for a reason.

How do you guys celebrate?

We pop bottles.

What’s your most common form of procrastination?

I think I unknowingly procrastinate. More like just get distracted by other shit. When most things you do are done on a computer its hard not to attempt to multi task and in the end you get nothing accomplished.

What’s your most common disagreement?
The cat’s litter box may be a constant source of quarrel vibes.

Where do you take someone visiting NYC?

Now that we live in Harlem we take em to Patsy’s Pizzeria. It’s close to home. Used to take em all for soup dumplings in Chinatown but those days are over.

What book do you often recommend to people?

The book I recently made in memory of Harold Hunter is available via Pau Wau Publications and I strongly recommend it to everyone. Also everything available on Heavytime.com is a great read.If you could only keep one app on your phone, what would it be?

The phone call app. I do still like hearing the voices in my head.

What was the last thing you saw that made you think damn I wish I thought of that?

The Ipod. They nailed it with that one.
