New York Portrait Series #1 – Peter Sutherland

While visiting New York City Aaron Wynia took some great portraits of some New York creatives and got his friend Aidan Johnston to ask them some questions. The first images we are sharing from Aaron’s ‘ New York Portrait Series’ are of Peter Sutherland (one of our magazine’s faves and whom we have featured in the past)that he took of the  photographer/artist while he was preparing for a group show with Jim Mangan at Muddguts.



What’s the most routine part of your day?
Climbing up or down stairs to/ from my apartment.

Where’s the first place you would take someone who’s never been to NYC?
Intersection of Essex, East Broadway and Canal.

What’s your favourite hobby?

What You Tube videos do you like to watch?
Dirt biking.


What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you about photography?
My brother taught me how f stops and shutter speeds worked together and also to look at  the book “The Guide ” by William Eggleston.




If you had to be paid in something other than money, what would it be?

What’s one place to be alone?
If I’m not with wife, family, or friends I feel alone.
