Tim Barber will be giving a talk at Emily Carr on September 26th as part of “The Talkback” series, where guest speakers each reflect on their personal breakthrough moment and share insights for creative growth.
Tim Barber grew up in Amherst Massachusetts, lived for a few years in the mountains of Northern Vermont, before studying photography at Emily Carr. A photographer, curator and designer, Barber runs the creative community platformwww.time-and-space.tv (formerly known as tinyvices.com) and curates and exhibits his work globally.
His work has been featured in Elle, Marie Claire, Rolling Stone, New York Magazine, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal among many others and he has shot portraits of celebrities such as Willem Dafoe, Will Farrell, and had corporate gigs for high profile clients like Nike, Nordstrom, Burton, Lacoste, Urban Outfitters and Adidas. Recently his photography was personally selected for the cover for Elton John’s album, The Diving Board. He currently lives in New York City.
