Reigning in the play on proportion that has been dominating Acne for the past few seasons, the brand went towards normal, or “generic” as designer Jonny Johansson put it, flirting on the edge of normcore in its simplicity. But Acne’s “generic” is obviously anything but. Inspired by Jeff Wall’s photographs, the collection takes a similar approach to the artist’s work, meticulously recreating a situation. Acne reproduces the idea and concept of “generic” but in a beautifully unique and stylish way.
