We dropped by the opening of the Michael Drebert’s show BEAR HOUSE last Friday at the Malaspina Gallery on Granville Island.
A beautiful collection of minimal and bold imagery in black ink inspired by an experience on Haida Gwaii filled the tiny space. The prints are as interesting as the story behind them and the lithographic limestone printing process was a first for Michael. He deliberately chose to bypass some of the more traditional aspects of this type of printmaking, creating a style all his own.
Up until December 4, 2011.
